The Injured Quadrant
Humankind's disconnection from the natural world and lack of compassion has caused much suffering and will continue unless we make the conscious decision as individuals to evolve. The Waters and The Innocents are here to represent the injured beings of the Earth.
The Waters
65” x 42” x15”
This whale tail is made of repurposed plastic from food wrapped around a core and coiled in an ancient basketry technique. It is stuffed with plastic and the waves around it are also plastic. Ten million tons of plastic are dumped in our oceans annually. That is equal to more than a garbage truck load every minute. One million marine animals are killed by plastic pollution every year. There will be more plastic in our oceans than fish by 2050.
The Innocents
70” x 18” x 18”
This piece is here as the survivor. It is the wounded child. It is the victim of racism and hate crimes. It is the one who was bullied. Within everyone is a connection to their authentic self that cannot be destroyed. Through healing the wounds of our past and building a life of spirit and intimacy, we can evolve into the best version of ourselves to fulfill our highest purpose.
